2015 Colour Design Trends: Blinds and Shutters

Colour enhances the world around us and can invigorate our senses and mood. Therefore, when we bring colour into the home, we need to know we are choosing the right one to not only complement the room but also suit our personalities.

So, now that it’s the end of the year, let’s take a sneak peek at what the colour design trends are looking like for blinds and shutters next year!

Muted pastels

Pastel colours such as Tiffany Blue, are predicted to be very popular and stylish for 2015. As it is quite a bold colour, you could opt for a Tiffany Blue roller blind so you can inject just the right amount of vibrancy to your room. However, if you are feeling a bit braver, you could paint one wall this colour to have a main focal point in the room, then co-ordinate this with white furnishings for a fantastic and sophisticated finish.

Bold colours and patterns

We’re going to see a lot more of twentieth century pallets, such as burnt oranges and golden yellows, as well as natural patterns such as feathers or tropical prints which can look great in bedrooms.

A green tea shade creates a light, delicate and refreshing tone. To achieve a more refined look, incorporate whites and blonde wood furniture. If you prefer the darker shades then olive greens work great, especially in kitchens, for an organic look. Alternatively, if you want to jazz things up a bit then pink complements green perfectly for a bright and fresh feel.

Burnt oranges and brick reds teamed with leather interiors are ideal for a cosy and warm living room. You could match this with dark wooden shutters that will not only complement your room, but also offer greater security and can insulate your room far better.

White and iridescents

For a clean, crisp look, whites and iridescents teamed with soft pink hues such as sugar plum pinks and secret blushes create the perfect soft, romantic feel for you to relax and unwind. For this interior, white blinds or pale grey tones will complement the gentle colour scheme, so either a roman or venetian blind would be the ideal blind styles to opt for here.

Metallics

For a more glamorous feel the metallic look could be the one for you. Art deco hues emit an elegant, chic and stylish feel, perfect for any bedroom or living room. If your room’s interior is rather plain, you have the option of a patterned blind fabric to really bring your room to life!
